One of the biggest misconceptions is thinking that a dog owner or trainer needs to train all dogs the same way using a certain technique, and not taking into account the animal’s personality. Your dog will be one of five colors based upon his or her personality:

• RED - Very high strung and "off the wall"
• ORANGE - High strung
• YELLOW - Mellow and laid back
• GREEN - Apprehensive and somewhat shy
• BLUE - Very shy and afraid

You will follow your dog's color throughout the book, and the four behaviors you will learn from Joel's dog training system are SIT, STAY, COME, and the word "NO". The great news is your dog will change colors and move towards the center of the spectrum. Red can become Orange, Orange can become Yellow, Blue can become Green, and Green can become Yellow!
